These facets were implemented throughout the development of the Center for Business to guarantee that respect is paid to Nipsey’s legacy. His voice inflections are brought front and center in the lyrical analysis. This analysis is then applied to the building’s facade, creating a push and pull sidewalk that engages the community and brings relief to the oppressive Livernois sidewalk’s relationship with the busy street. The program is borrowed from Nipsey’s ethos, improving the community through economic growth. From retail, to business education, to co-working spaces; the people of the University District can engage in a building that accepts, invites, and enhances its community.
